Adam Schickling, CFA®

Economist

Adam Schickling is an economist in Vanguard Investment Strategy group. He has coauthored research on topics including productivity, demographics, labor markets, and China’s economy. He’s been with Vanguard 9 years and previously was a fixed income investment risk analyst. Mr. Schickling is a CFA® charterholder and holds a M.A. in economics, Temple University.

Emily Buchbinder

Emily Buchbinder’s law practice focuses on estate planning (Trusts, Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, business and real estate succession planning) for individuals and couples with estates of all sizes. In addition, she has extensive experience in probate matters, trust and estate administration, business law, and tax. Emily is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, a Master of Teaching from Brown University, a graduate of Monterey College of Law, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Emily is a Certified Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. She is a regular speaker on estate planning and taxation for the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, the University of California Santa Cruz Planned Giving, CalCPA, and various community and business organizations.

Ted George, CFP®, MSFP

Ted is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, recently retired. He was the founder and Principal of Wealthscape Advisors, LLC, formerly a Registered Investment Adviser firm in the state of California. He was previously a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor at the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and was President of the Financial Planning Association of Silicon Valley in 2015, after serving several years on the Board as Director of Programs.

Ju-Lu Huang Kuo

Ju-Lu Huang Kuo has been an influential presence in the palliative care community for more than 20 years, with a focus on communication with patients, families, health care providers and institutions. Ju-Lu has been featured on Bridgeport News, Let’s Talk Tonight TV Show for her expertise. She also travels around the world as a guest lecturer at different hospitals and Schools of Nursing in Universities. She has a master’s degree from Yale University and is a member of the Motivational Interview Network of Trainers.

Brian Trouette

Brian is the founder of the Trouette Insurance Agency. In 1998, he established the firm with a mission of providing a disciplined, analytical approach to insurance for high-net-worth individuals and families. He works collaboratively with financial advisors, CPAs and attorneys to protect clients and their wealth. Brian also provides risk management services to financial advisors at the business level. With over 22 years of experience, Brian also dedicates his time educating advisors on how careful insurance analysis can help mitigate risk for clients. He is a highly-rated speaker by the FPA as well as the National Association of Personal Financial Advisor groups.
